7 Proven Keys to Success (And How to Use Them in Your Life)

Success is one of the most abused words on the internet. We all know that it is a wonderful thing, but many of the things we read on the internet about success are just wide off the mark. This is not to say that there is no decent information online that can help someone achieve success.

There are proven ways to achieve success. An individual must be ready to learn and follow the footsteps of some of the most successful people on earth in order to replicate their success. This doesn’t mean you have to copy successful people. It only means that you can learn a lot from them.

Are you hungry for success? We have seven proven keys that can help you. We will also discuss these keys in a manner that will make it easy for you to implement them in your life and reap the different fruits they yield, which ultimately culminate in success.

Discipline

Most people in the world limit themselves because they are not disciplined. No matter what you think about this word, it is one of the keys to success. If you have a negative connotation of the word (some think of it as punishment), it is time you changed your mindset and became disciplined.

Discipline is all about being more responsible, even when it doesn’t feel too comfortable. It is all about stepping out of your comfort zone to do what is right and what can help you achieve your goals. Strive towards your goals, even when your body is unwilling to take action.

Persistence

In simple terms, persistence means to hang in there, even when things become very tough. It is an important attribute of every successful person. The truth is that the world is a tough place. The road to success is the toughest road to travel, and only persistent individuals can travel it.

Persistence doesn't allow any degree of compromise, especially if success is your goal in life. You will need to be persistent without exception. It may be easier to persist on a task, a career, or a journey when things are relatively easier. To be successful, you also need to persist when things become really tough.

Influence

Influence and affluence and two different words but are related in some ways. If you truly want to be successful, then influence is what you need. Influence, in this regard, means your value to the people around you. An influential person will have people quickly come to his/her rescue in times of trouble.

Being influential also means being someone people want to be around. People will only want to be around you when you are valuable to them. Being positive, respectful, and engaging will make you more influential.

Coaching

As we have established already, success is not the easiest thing to find in the world. Most successful people experience failure severally before they get a taste of success. They may make lots of mistakes before finding out what really works in their industry or field. You don’t have to make all these mistakes or experience as many failures as those above you experienced.

Coaching is like getting a cheat sheet that can make your road to success a little easier. While there is no real shortcut to success, things will be easier for you if you find coaches who will help you avoid some mistakes on your road to success.

Personal Mission Statement

Having a personal mission statement may sound dumb to some people, but the truth is that it can really help. A personal statement is what you believe in and affirm every time. It can help you in different situations and will certainly help you to push on when things are tough.

Having a personal statement can also help you to establish boundaries and respect them. When you do, you can protect your time, money, and assets. Your personal statement must be positive, and it must be engraved in your heart.

Belief

Every successful person on this planet has real beliefs that cannot be shaken by all the troubles of the world. You must also be willing to build your belief and live it in order to achieve your goals and record success in different areas of your life.

Developing positive beliefs takes time and real effort. You will have to start by controlling your thinking, directing your thoughts to what you seek in life (which is 'success,' for most people). You must also guard your thinking in good times and in bad times.

Goal Setting

Trying to be successful without setting goals is not feasible. It is almost like running with all your might without a destination in mind. You will end up exhausting without any notable achievements. You need to set goals, pursue the goals, and track your achievements.

When you set tangible goals, you will know what to do in order to record achievements that count towards your success in life. Keep your goals simple and achievable. Setting goals is never enough; you must give your best to achieve every goal, which is actually what making progress entails.

Endnote

Success is a process and not a destination – keep this in mind the next time you encounter discouragement. The seven keys we’ve briefly covered here will set you on a good path to success. However, you must be willing to apply them in your life and stick to them even when it feels like things are not just working out.

Life will certainly throw many challenges your way when you are working towards becoming successful. You have to focus on the process and try to become a better version of yourself each new day.
